Art Authentication
The value of artwork is not in its price, but in the truth it reveals.
Authentication is a path to essence. It confirms not only the artwork’s authenticity but also reveals its history, context, and the deeper meaning embedded by the artist.
Without it, art becomes an image without substance, and investment turns into risk.

The Authentication Process
Submit a Request
The process begins with submitting a request for Authentication or certification. This is the first step where you can express your interest in having an artwork or asset evaluated. The request can be submitted through an online form or other communication channels.
Wherever you are, our global network of specialists is ready to provide you with top-notch service, tailored to your needs and delivered under the best possible conditions.

Preliminary Consultation and Agreement
After submitting the request, a preliminary consultation is scheduled. At this stage, our experts will discuss the details of the artwork or asset with you, including the purpose of the certification, the process, and the required documents. Afterward, a formal agreement is made, outlining the terms, costs, and timeline for the entire process.

Preparation and Analysis
Once the agreement is signed, the preparation phase begins. Our team collects all the necessary data, documents, and images related to the artwork or asset. Then, an in-depth analysis takes place, where experts conduct various tests and evaluations to confirm the authenticity, provenance, and condition of the piece. This stage includes scientific analysis, historical research, and the use of advanced technologies.

Result
The final stage is the delivery of results. After completing the analysis, you will receive a detailed report, which includes the Authentication or certification status, valuation, and other important findings. This includes a digital certificate, a paper version, and other digital resources.

More Than Just Authentication

While traditional Authentication offers technical analysis, uniqueness validation, and certification,
we set out to solve all surrounding challenges and created a unique platform capable of delivering All in One Place.
Authentication Step by Step
Before starting the evaluation process, it is important to understand that each step requires careful attention and thoroughness. We take a responsible approach to each stage, and while the process is extensive and requires in-depth analysis, we have highlighted the key steps of the evaluation for you.
Step 1
Historical Analysis. Provenance Certification
Transparency is the foundation of trust. We conduct an in-depth investigation into the provenance of the artwork: where it has been, who owned it, what events it passed through, and the journey it has taken. Special attention is given to archival records, documented evidence, and catalog references to reconstruct a complete and reliable history of the piece.

Step 2
Initial Attribution
Returning to the origins is the key to uncovering the true essence of an artwork. We identify the artist, workshop, materials, and the creative environment in which the piece was formed. This comprehensive process examines every stage — from the first brushstroke and selection of canvas to the final touches that mark the transition of the work into historical significance.

Step 3
Scientific Research and Analysis
A comprehensive approach to ensure clarity and credibility. We apply advanced diagnostic methods to uncover the hidden structure and story behind each artwork:
X-ray imaging — reveals underlying layers, compositional changes, and hidden interventions invisible to the naked eye.
Infrared and ultraviolet imaging — detects subtle details, underdrawings, and restorations that may not be captured even by X-rays.

Pigment and Material Analysis – A precise science that helps verify authenticity through composition and structure. We compare the pigments, materials, and techniques used in the artwork with those that were available and typical for the claimed historical period. This stage includes: Chemical analysis of pigments and raw materials, Comparison of style and artistic technique, Identification of unique artist-specific characteristics, Ultraviolet imaging to detect alterations and restorations and 17 other mechanisms.
In-depth analysis – Carbon Dating, Dendrochronology, Chemical Analysis, Thermoluminescence, Linguistics, DNA, Fingerprints, and Analysis of Other Attributes. We use a variety of methods to verify authenticity, including: Carbon dating to determine the age of organic materials, Dendrochronology to date wooden components, Chemical analysis and Thermoluminescence, Examination of supporting elements, such as panels and frames, along with all other possible attributes that can provide insights into the artwork’s origin.
Step 4
Professional Expertise
Our team of specialists, including art historians, curators, and scientists, conducts an in-depth analysis based on all gathered data to ensure the authenticity and cultural significance of the artwork.

Step 5
Computational Science
Description: Deep Learning — employs machine learning to detect patterns and anomalies, helping verify authorship, technique, and other characteristics based on vast databases and algorithms. This not only assists in authentication but also predicts potential changes in the artwork’s condition.

Comparative Analysis
We assess the artwork within the context of the existing market and compare it with other works by the same artist or workshop. This helps uncover unique characteristics and verify the authenticity of the piece, taking into account its place in the artist’s oeuvre and the broader art historical context.
Step 6
Certification and Smart Presence in the Digital Ecosystem
We provide both digital and physical certificates of Authenticity, creating a secure digital footprint for the artwork. In addition to certification, we ensure registration in key databases where evaluation, sales, and lost artwork tracking take place. This is more than just proof of authenticity — it’s a smart and secure digital presence for your artwork within the global art ecosystem.

Who benefits from Authentication

- Galleries and Private Collections
- Financial Institutions and Investment Funds
- Artists and Descendants
- Governmental and Museum Institutions
- Insurance Companies
- Artwork Owners and Other Custodians
By verifying Authenticity, we restore a value you can rely on — whether for collecting, trading, or passing art on to the next generation.
We offer flexible pricing depending on the purpose and complexity of the analysis. Leave your contact details or book a meeting — and we will recommend the best option for your artwork, provide a cost estimate, and give you access to our live price monitoring system with future value prediction.
Even if you are confident about the authorship, an expert opinion is required to confirm authenticity on the market — regardless of the country, specialist, or organization. It’s especially important when selling, transferring ownership, insuring, or dealing with legal matters. Without formal authentication, your claim has no legal weight and may not be recognized by professionals or institutions.
An expert opinion results from in-depth, documented work: from analyzing the artist’s technique and materials to stylistic features and scientific diagnostics. Signing an opinion carries legal and professional responsibility. This is the only way to provide proper protection of your interests and an accurate evaluation of the artwork’s future potential. That’s why both authentication and (optionally) certification are essential.
The authentication process includes a thorough analysis of the artwork’s provenance and authenticity, digital image processing, comparative art historical study, and scientific diagnostics. You can learn more about each Step
Some fakes can be spotted even from photographs — due to stylistic errors, incorrect materials, or poor craftsmanship. However, most require in-depth instrumental and laboratory analysis. We use scientific methods, archival sources, and comparative expertise to minimize the risk of mistakes.
Yes, a preliminary assessment can be made from high-quality images. However, for a final report — especially when scientific analysis or formal documentation is required for sale or insurance — a physical examination of the artwork is necessary.
There’s no need to send the artwork right away. Thanks to our international network of experts and partners, we can offer local solutions or receive the piece at one of our hubs. We’ll assist with logistics and provide full instructions.
Usually not. We do not issue certificates based on third-party opinions. However, if the expert or organization is one of our recognized partners, we may consider it on a case-by-case basis. Please provide all relevant information and documents.
We are an international team operating in a hybrid model. Our experts and partners are based in major art capitals across Europe, the U.S., and other regions. This allows us to provide services regardless of your location and quickly engage local resources.
Yes, we and our accredited partners provide certification. If a specific artist has an officially authorized expert or organization, we will refer you to them. In other cases, you will receive a certificate based on scientific and expert analysis recognized by auction houses and insurers.
Yes. As part of the authentication, we provide a market valuation of the artwork. We also register the piece in our database so you can track price trends and monitor interest from potential buyers.
Yes. If the piece is authenticated, we will list it for free in our internal marketplace and help you prepare it for sale professionally. You’ll get access to price analytics and demand forecasting, increasing your chances of a successful and profitable sale.
