Jean Jeansem

Jean Jansem (1920–2013) was a French-Armenian painter known for his expressive, emotional works that often depicted human fragility and suffering. Born Hovhannes Semerdjian, he fled to Greece before settling in France, where he studied art in Paris. His distinctive style featured elongated figures and earthy tones, blending Armenian heritage with universal themes. Jansem’s works are celebrated worldwide and held in major collections.
